On July 15, a new agreement was signed between the Ministry of Equality and the General Pharmaceutical Council of Spain for the development of information, prevention, and awareness-raising activities in the field of violence against women. This new alliance against gender-based violence strengthens and acknowledges the role that pharmacists can play in the fight against this social scourge, with initiatives such as Mask-19, initially launched in the pandemic by the Pharmacy Chambers of Las Palmas and Tenerife (Canary Islands), which is already implemented in 12 Spanish regions and 20 countries on four continents.
