The General Pharmaceutical Council of Spain (CGCOF) hosted a meeting last July with representatives from the main national political parties that contested the general elections. The event provided an opportunity to hear the proposals of these parties on issues such as improving access to medicines, the need to reform primary care, and initiatives to combat ageing and depopulation. In this regard, it is worth to highlight the agreement shown by the three party spokespersons on various aspects such as the need to take advantage of community pharmacy to improve the continuity of treatment and tackle supply problems, providing pharmacists with the possibility of substituting the pharmaceutical form.
