Last Christmas, the Royal Palace of Madrid's nativity scene has incorporated a Neapolitan apothecary, combining history and art with the familiarity and science of pharmacy.

The team of restorers from National Heritage has handcrafted a pharmacy, including furniture, medicines and numerous accessories, as well as a distillation room or laboratory. The scene is completed with the recreation of several Neapolitan figures, including a male pharmacist and a female pharmacist.

This initiative is the result of a collaboration agreement signed between the General Pharmaceutical Council of Spain and National Heritage, thanks to which not only has the apothecary building and distillation room or laboratory been recreated, but various Neapolitan figures have also been installed, including the royal pharmacist and a female pharmacist.
