On September 25, Spain paid tribute to the pharmaceutical profession by lighting up the most emblematic buildings in the main capitals in green, thus showing its public recognition of the commendable work carried out by pharmacists in their many fields of activity, such as hospitals, communities, primary care, public health, distribution, teaching, research, industry, and clinical analysis.
This symbolic gesture was part of World Pharmacists Day, which is celebrated every September 25 and promoted by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP). This year, the FIP chose the slogan “Think health, think pharmacist,” which in Spain has been accompanied by the tagline #ConCienciaFarmacéutica para mejorar el mundo (With Pharmaceutical Science to Improve the World) to highlight the dual nature of the profession, linked on the one hand to more scientific and healthcare work and, on the other, to the growing social work it carries out.
